The Blurb
The multi-award-winning duo of Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen tackle a perennial question: how does Santa go down the chimney?
When Santa arrives at a child’s house on Christmas Eve, does he go down the chimney feetfirst or headfirst? What if he gets stuck? What if there’s no chimney? Maybe he slides under the door, as thin as a piece of paper? Or is it possible he pours himself through the tap? What happens once he’s inside?

The Review
Could this be the most important non-fiction title ever published?
Tackling a subject we would all like the answer to, Mac and Jon explore some of the theories around how exactly Santa gets into our houses on Christmas Eve, from descending the chimney and the inevitable mess that could create, to houses without chimneys, and silencing dogs.

Deadpan comic humour in both prose and art are exactly what we’ve come to expect from this dream team, and they don’t disappoint. As scenarios become sillier, and answers further out of reach, the laughs will inevitably get louder.
One thing is for certain though, this is not the answer you were looking for, but it is definitely the answer you need.
Huge thanks to Walker Books for sending me a finished copy.
I loved Mac Barnett’s TED Talk from 2014. Funny and yet so informative. Near the end of the video, be sure to catch Nico’s phone messages to Randolph, the blue whale! Stories have the power to influence young and old.
