The third in The Travelling School Mysteries middle grade detective adventure series!

The travelling school arrives in New York, and Libby and her friends find themselves organising a charity auction alongside Hollywood star Eloise Fitzwilliam. But something isn’t right. The Review

The third instalment in The Travelling School Mysteries series takes us to the bustling streets of New York City, where the traveling school lands for yet another riveting adventure with the clever and intrepid Libby and her friends.

Jo cleverly intertwines the peculiar behaviour of Count Alvarez with the arrival of a mysterious figure from Libby’s past, adding layers of intrigue and suspense to the glitz and glamour of a charity auction hosted by a Hollywood star. From the iconic Statue of Liberty to the bustling streets of Times Square, readers will delight in exploring the city alongside the children. I loved how fascinating facts about New York add depth and realism to the children’s adventure as they work together to raise money for charity and the mask from a skilled criminal.

In Libby, we don’t see a perfect protagonist. We see a 12 year old struggle with jealousy and worries as a new student enters her friendship circle. While Connie welcomes her with open arms, Libby sees her as a complication to be kept out of harms way. I loved seeing her grow through the story, and her ability to bite her tongue when she knew she her thoughts were unkind.

With its blend of glamour, mystery, and the allure of New York City, this story is bound to captivate the imaginations of young sleuths, and leave them eagerly anticipating the next thrilling adventure with Libby as she heads off to Egypt…

Great for fans of:

  • The Highland Falcon Thief by M.G. Leonard and Sam Sedgeman
  • A Chase In Time by Sally Nicholls
  • The Secret Of The Night Train by Sylvia Bishop

Huge thanks to Firefly Press for sending me a finished copy.
