The Review
An incredibly uplifting fantasy celebrating the power of curiosity, courage and friendship.
Ember is as wild and free spirited as any heroine I’ve ever read. Head strong and determined to have the biggest adventure she can, she forgets that others may not face life with the same attitude that she does. Her fear of people leaving her causes her to push away the one person who is steadfastly by her side, despite his fear and caution.
The setting is as wild and untameable as Ember, with its windswept coastlines, crumbling castles and craggy cliffs. Where else would you expect to find meringue eating unicorns, glowing nibblesqueaks and flying bathtubs, all chased down by a nefarious crew of hunters armed with an utterly terrifying weapon.
A delightful blend of magic and adventure, perfect for young readers seeking an enthralling adventure. With its imaginative world-building, lovably eccentric characters, and an pacy plot filled with twists and turns, this book is sure to ignite children’s imaginations leave them eagerly awaiting Ember Spark And The Frost Phoenix just as much as I am.
Huge thanks to Abi and Simon & Schuster for sending me an early proof copy.
