The Blurb
Follow an ingenious trail of 200 facts about all things cute, cosy and sweet.
In this book, you’ll:
Meet the pygmy hippo called Moo Dheng whose ears wiggle when she sleeps
Encounter the world’s tiniest teddy bear
Learn that elephants dance in the rain and that babies hiccup inside the womb
Jet off into space to discover a comet shaped like a rubber duck and a dwarf planet with a huge, heart-shaped ice field on its surface
And much more!
Every fact in the book is linked to the next in funny and surprising ways. And there isn’t just one trail through these pages: sometimes your path branches and you can choose to jump to a totally different (but still connected) part of the book.
Where will your curiosity take you?

The Review
If you are looking for a non-fiction book that will instantly capture children’s attention, Cute FACTopia is an absolute treat. Bursting with quirky, fascinating and genuinely adorable facts, this pocket-sized book is perfect for dipping into and sharing.
What makes this book so special is the way it is organised. Rather than presenting facts in isolation, each one cleverly links to the next, creating an engaging “trail” that keeps readers curious. One moment you are learning about a pygmy hippo whose ears wiggle as she sleeps, and the next you are discovering the tiniest teddy bear or heading into space to explore a comet shaped like a rubber duck! It is this slightly unpredictable journey that makes it such a joy to read.
I also love the interactive feel of the book. The branching pathways encourage children to make choices about where to go next, which adds a playful, almost game-like element. It’s ideal for reluctant readers, as there is no pressure to read it from start to finish – they can simply follow their curiosity.
The facts themselves are pitched perfectly for primary-aged children: engaging, surprising and often laugh-out-loud interesting. It would work brilliantly in the classroom as a hook for writing, a reading-for-pleasure option, or even as a quick daily ‘fact of the day’.
Part of the ever-popular FACTopia series, this is another fantastic addition that children will return to again and again.
Huge thanks to Laura and What On Earth Books for inviting me to take part in the blog tour!

See how far your curiosity can take you as you Create Your Own Cute Fact Trail…
1. Start with one cute or interesting fact. What is it about?
2. What fact can you link to it next? Follow a word, idea, or theme.
3. Continue your trail with at least 4–6 connected facts. Can you surprise your reader?
Just for fun: Add one fact that sounds real but is actually made up – will anyone spot it?
Challenge yourself: Can you create a branching path where your reader chooses which fact to follow next?
