Amelia Fang And The Trouble With Toads by Laura Ellen Anderson

Publication Date: 01 October 2020

The Blurb

A brand-new adventure in the bestselling and much-loved Amelia Fang series!

When Amelia Fang’s baby brother, Vincent, accidentally enters a mysterious land – the place where all squished toads go – Amelia has to embark on a daring adventure to rescue him.

But even if Amelia and her friends do find Vincent, will they be able to find their way home? Or will they be trapped in the toad afterlife FOREVER?

The Review

We’ve had a Barbaric Ball, Unicorn Lords, and four other amazing adventures already, and now with The Trouble With Toads, we come to the end of our time with Amelia Fang and the gang, and what a way to finish what has been an amazing series!

Squashy, Grimaldi and Florence are back to help Amelia babysit the stinkiest baby ever produced (her brother, Vincent), and one who causes more mischief than a whole room full of caticorns!

Mayhem ensues as we see the friends battle to get Vincent back from the Pond Beyond in a toadally brilliant adventure that showcases friendship, teamwork, perseverance and the struggle to adapt to a new sibling. It’s all too clear to see the mixed emotions Amelia has towards Vincent, and how hard she is finding life with him in it!

I loved seeing every one of Amelia’s gang get a chance to shine, including Prince Tangine, and the selection of photo memories at the end capture the vivacious, vibrant nature of the whole series. I can’t wait to see what Laura has in store for us next…

Laura’s illustrations bring her quirky characters and the world they inhabit to life in stunning black & white. If you’d like to be able to draw like Laura, head over to MoonLaneTV at 5pm today for a very special publication day Baby Vincent draw-a-long: https://www.youtube.com/c/moonlanetv
