The Blurb
When an evil faerie steals Yanni’s baby sister and swaps her for a Changeling, Yanni is swept into a dangerous race against time to get her back.
For faeries delight in tricks and rescuing her won’t be easy. With the help of his cousin, Amy, and the reluctant Changeling, Yanni must travel to goblin palaces and battle-swept oceans, discovering ancient treasures and secrets along the way.
Yanni will need every drop of courage and even a few tricks of his own, if he’s to outwit the faerie and save his sister…

The Review
An absolute triumph delivering pure escapism that is both captivating and compelling reading, packed with humour and heart.
Strong characterisation makes it feel as though you are walking alongside the cousins as they get to know each other. Yanni is flawed yet likeable, and grows throughout the story. Amy is brave, forthright and deserves to have so much more self confidence than we see in her at first. Amy brings out the worst, and then the best in Yanni, and I love her for it! But, it is the Changling who totally captured my heart – I can’t say more because, spoilers!
The world building swept me away into the Land of the Fae with it’s broken magic chiming in the background as I read on. The mirrored world they find themselves navigating is bigger, darker and more dangerous than reality, and yet strangely familiar as they venture through it to complete the quests.
With echoes of Labyrinth and a nod to role play board games, this is Ross at his finest – The Chimeseekers is, in my opinion, his best book yet, and one that would make a superb film or tv series adaptation. With that in mind, I asked Ross who he would love to see play some of the characters with no explanations – you’ll have to read the book to see if you agree…
Yanni: Timothée Chalamet (aged 11!)
Amy: Zoey Deschanel (aged 12!)
Lorde Renwin: Tom Hiddleston
The Changeling: Andy Serkis, in a motion capture suit
The Sign Post: Richard E Grant
Thanks Ross! Great casting, and I would love to see Andy Serkis in that motion captures suit!
Huge thanks to Walker Books for sending me an early review copy, and inviting me to take part in the blog tour for The Chime Seekers. Do make sure you check out all of the other stops.
