Silver Street Farm Series by Nicola Davies, illustrations by Katharine McEwen

I had the pleasure of meeting Nicola Davies at Kenilworth Books to celebrate 50 books in 20 years. While talking about my school bookshelf, she very kindly gave me the fifth book from the Silver Street Farm Series and offered to send me the first book too. And I’m so grateful she did..

Welcome to Silver Street Farm

Gemma, Karl and Meera have dreamed of setting up their own city farm ever since they first met in Reception. When they discover the abandoned Silver Street Station, they set plans in motion to make their dreams come true. Can they get Councillor Newberry to agree to their plans?

Crowded Out At Silver Street Farm

Silver Street Farm is bursting at the seams. The animals keep escaping their pens, and more keep arriving. The children need to expand, or they will have to rehome some of them. Meera has a plan. All she needs to do is contact the reclusive owner of the scrapyard next door, but her planning is interrupted when a famous film director arrives in Lonchester…

Short, easy to read chapters and charming illustrations by Katherine McEwen, make this series a must for young readers. Following your dreams, doing what it takes to achieve them, and a host of animals are brought to life in a multicultural urban setting, with gentle humour and lots of animal facts.

Perfect for young readers moving to chapter books who love animals and big dreams.

Huge thanks to Nicola Davies for giving me these wonderful stories for my school bookshelf.
